"I am responsible, pragmatic, humorous, and creative."
I enlisted in the "Plăieșii" army in 2007, and I really enjoyed the nature of the rehearsals, the repertoire, but not least, the extremely friendly group where the sense of humor always persists.
If I remember correctly, the first time I came to the ensemble, I heard a military song: "When I came from the army." Mr. Nicolae Gribincea taught me to be more tempered, more patient, but also more persevering in what I do every day.
Some timeless values that Nicolae Gribincea cultivates at the "Plăieșii" school are tolerance, optimism, responsibility, perseverance, and artistry. Every member of our group must be responsible both on and off stage. Punctuality and accuracy in performance are also mandatory, as are diligence and respect towards colleagues. At Plăieșii, we are like one big family.
For me, the traditional costume represents a state of mind and a return to the values of our ancestors. Folklore expeditions are an inexhaustible source of intangible heritage and play a very important role in maintaining the diversity and beauty of our repertoire.
From my very first year in this group, I felt that through the songs we promote, we have gathered quality people around me.
Our audience is the beautiful community that cares about Romanian roots and traditions. Those who have not yet attended one of our performances should come because only folklore still keeps us together as a nation. Otherwise, we have no chance of resisting over time against globalization, which slowly but surely homogenizes all the nations around the world.
I wish this beautiful project to last as long as possible because I constantly feel the need to offer people the joy of Romanian folk songs, in which the multi-century philosophy of our nation is reflected.
