I like well-done work and people who keep their word. I always try to learn something new and surround myself with intelligent and good people, both in what they do and in their hearts. I believe I am defined by a serious attitude towards everything I do, punctuality, respect for myself and those around me, talent, and a strong work ethic.
I joined “Plăieșii” in 2011, and thanks to the healthy attitude that predominates in the group, I am still active today. Tradition, creativity, youth, vigor, and an exceptional repertoire are some of the qualities that describe our ensemble. “La omul care mi-i drag” (“To the Man I Love”) is one of the first songs I learned at “Plăieșii,” but I cherish them all because each one expresses and evokes different feelings.
Mr. Nicolae Gribincea taught us that everything starts from the truth. This is the only path that leads directly to the listener’s heart. He always encouraged us to have a serious attitude towards what we do. Love for tradition and the courage to dare to create beautiful things are very important. Only through hard work and dedication can great things be achieved.
And last but not least, he convinced us that effort is always rewarded sooner or later. “Plăieșii” is, first and foremost, a team where punctuality, seriousness, talent, and kindness stand together. We know that traditional costume, through its symbols, represents our genetic code, and we wear it with great pride.
In folkloric expeditions, we learn what it means to do real fieldwork in order to discover folkloric materials and bring them to light, refining them and presenting them back to the wider public. Our audience is intelligent and kind at heart. Who? Only those people who can appreciate a good and quality cultural product.
