I joined “Plăieșii” on June 12, 2019. The beautifully rich ethnofolkloric repertoire makes me want to stay with them even today. The first songs I learned were “Hai, hai, lume-aleasă” and “Haide, lume.”
Nicolae Gribincea is our dedicated teacher. He teaches us the art of dance and how an artist must resonate and behave on stage, as it is a much more complex process than it might seem at first glance.
During expeditions, “Plăieșii” discover new pieces, bring them to life, and present them to the audience. Our audience includes people from different age groups. Even those who previously showed no interest in folklore come to listen to us.
Traditional folk costume represents the specific clothing of a region or country. For me, traditional dress is a value, a wealth inherited from our ancestors, which I wear with dignity and pride.
One of the most beloved songs in our repertoire is “Frunzuliță troscoțelu,” because it represents the five stages a person experiences in life.
Discipline, love for folklore, simplicity, and openness to something new are the fundamental elements that fully characterize us.
